The News We Lose While Americans Snooze

Your military industrial complex is hard at work, while your main stream media is acting like jerks to ignore it. They are setting the stage for the next 9/11, while some celebrity gets all the headlines. A brief blip. A quick explanation. A mistake is claimed (an unacknowledged first!) A revision of the facts. First there were six and now there are five. And...someone in the USAF has stolen a nuclear weapon.

Six nuclear weapons are locked and loaded
on a jet in Minot, ND. 13.5 hours later (after a 3.5 hour trip,) five nuclear weapons are discovered locked and loaded on a jet in Barksdale, LA.

To write this off as a mistake is to overlook the frothing at the mouth for a war with Iran by the Resident and his puppet master. The domino's are in place for martial law on the homefront. I used to be paranoid. Lately, I'm just sad.

The Drums Are Growing Louder.

The talking heads are at it again. Blatantly repeating the Neo-con lies in order to start a new war. With nary a shred of evidence, no, even when the evidence proves the lie, all facts are ignored and all blame for the failure of the Iraqi adventure (what a sweet word for the bloody, grimy, horrible injustice that is the occupation of Iraq ) is being put on Iran. All options being on the table, according to the Resident, they are trying to get us ready, even rabidly pro a nuclear world war 3.

On a separate yet related note. I hear the demand that Iraq pass "The Oil Law," (this from nearly everyone that gets a chance to speak in public, Democrat/Republican/pro war/anti war/whatever) but when any further mention of said law is made, only half is actually addressed. Revenue sharing, a good thing, is demanded as a non-negotiable benchmark, but this only applies to existing oil wells. All new wells will be prey to so called PSAs which give 70% of the profits to the drillers for periods of up to 30 years (or all the oil is gone.) The Iraqi congress is warned that if they don't pass this, then rebuilding funds (and their personal security) will be at risk. However, if they do pass this law, then their own people will kill them. No wonder they want a two month vacation. That will give them 60 days to cash out their assets and get a head start into hiding!

Long time no posts

Too busy playing with videos over at U-Tube to do much writing. Politics was getting me down. Seems them Dimocrats weren't going to do much of anything other than blow their horns about how different they were. A little bit of noise about ethics reform. The Supreme Court thinks legislators are more qualified than Doctors about how to treat women. Impeachment off the table and lastly continue the Iraq war at least one more year with no restriction on bombing Iran. Lately, things seem to be warming up. Rep. Waxman is getting ready to issue subpoenas. Everybody's mad at A.G. Gonzales. Congress is beginning to look like an actual branch of Government.

Global warming is getting a whole lot of talk but, I don't really expect any real action. Too many people still grubbing for the next dollar to buy the latest new toy. Even good and good hearted people are too burdened by their daily lives to do much more than pop open a beer, turn on the boob tube, and turn up the A/C at the end of their workday to even realize how their life style contributes to the problem. Took me eight years to convince one friend and he only came around when he heard $hrub admit it was real.

Believe it or not but I found me this place back in '86. I hear a lot of talk about what people are going to need when the economic crunch comes. Stockpiling food, gold, and all kind of things. Me, I found a place with a year round spring that flowed even during the dust bowl days. I reckon with water I can trade for any other need.

Even More War Drums.

Seems that now, it's a given assumption
No need to question the White House spin.
They've lied to the public since quoting the oath
But, now, all is gospel, again.

Oh, they're willing to question political promises
And anything goes in matters domestic
But question the war or the actions of AIPAC
And you're marked as a traitor or anti-semitic.

I question ALL statements my government utters
For the one constant truth is that governments lie.
Their main simple function: Control of the public,
So rich people can profit while poor people die.

Keep all the peons real busy working
Worried and weakened and scared to the bone.
Don't allow any tools like critical thinking
Keep them lost in the circus and feeling alone.

Taking cues from mien kamp we are treated like chattel
They're afraid we might learn of the power we hold.
They fear the changes that we can create
When we stand together and really act bold.

Beating the War Drums Again

It's not news that Fox is fronting Bush's desire for more war
But now ABC and CBS and NBC are joining the push as quick as they can .
And that "liberal" rag, the New York Times tries to make us believe
The reason Iraq is whipping our ass is solely because of Iran.

It's the same old players with the same old lies
That got us to bleeding in the sands of Iraq
That are trying to scare us and fool us into
A larger debacle along the same track.

So ask yourself what or who is to gain
By believing these new lies and drumbeats for war.
Will you make a profit, will you make a dime
Or will Boeing and Bechtel and Carlyle reap more.

It's your tax dollars baby, buying bullets and bombs
And the Senators stock options getting the loot
While the white collar jobs and the making of cars
And the ultra rich all are fleeing the coop.

And the middle class, working class, all of us peons
Are paying the way if we take in their views
If we don't call them out when they lie to our face.
When they push propaganda while calling it news.

Smoke & Mirrors pt 2

The last of my rants at the Residents mumbles, lies, and promise of war, and of more war to come. Invading Afganistan, Iraq, and Somalia weren't enough. He wants to make a mess in Iran also. All the while driving the USA into bankruptcy.

From the time he entered adulthood(?) he has done one thing consistantly. The one thing he has never failed at doing is failing at whatever he is doing. Couldn't even find oil in Texas. Only time he ever made any money in business was when he did some insider trading. Seeing as how his dad was the Resident at that time, the investigation was dropped. Must be nice. Well, if you don't have a conscience that is.

So, he failed in Afganistan. Then he failed in Iraq. Then he failed in New Orleans. I'm sure his adventure in Somalia will be a failure. As for his coming failure in Iran, I'm afraid that will be his ultimate failure and the beginning of a world wide nuclear war. Started by a man who cannot utter a coherent sentence without cue cards. Do the fools who control him think they will escape the fallout?

Who is driving the bus?

So, I watched the ending of the playoffs, Colts vs. Patriots and the CEO and the head coach, both gave the glory and credit of the win to God. I assume they meant a Christian God of one denomination or another. Maybe even a particular denomination. After all, some of them are very jealous and intransigent in their insistence on being the only correct interpreters of the Bible. I can only wonder, were they judging the losing team to be less Christian, less devout, or merely members of the wrong congregation.

And meanwhile we have this: Lobbying for Armageddon. More than one of these self righteous sects are egging on the “End Times.” More than one. I can only imagine how scared, how empty and unfulfilled a person’s life must be, to attempt to find solace and community only to end up among a group of people whose aim is to destroy the world. Of course, they will get whisked away, just before the bad stuff happens to all those who don’t ascribe to their particular doctrine.

So here we are. Getting ready to make war on Iran. Nuclear war. The Resident has destroyed our armed forces in Iraq and the only tool left in his tool box is the nuclear option and since he has his bomb shelter, he’s not worried about the fallout. The wing nuts think he’ll bring them along (Ha. Ha.) The religious wackos are willing sacrifices to their dogmatic leaders. Our congress critters are beholden to the (supposedly non-existent) Jewish lobby (for campaign money) which is willing to bomb Iran on their own if we won’t.

On a different note: A huge event unfolded in Memphis the other weekend and not even c-span covered it. Big media is big business and even though the airways are ours, they ignore us. A bunch of videos are at that link for your educational pleasure.

And my latest You Tube rant!

Sunday Morning Talk Shows

The Press/News are still divided, pro Surge or Anti and filled our airways with their pompous pontifications creating noise. "Face the Nation," made listening to their rants worthwhile, for at the end good old Bob said it's time for real campaign finance reform. Publicly calling for publicly financed campaigns. Inspired me to write a poem, which I put up on You Tube.

Also did a vid on the Resident's speech last week. Sounds to me like World War 3.

Bush Speaks World Cries

We need to let Keith O. know he's not alone. His latest rant speaks Truth to Power with a rarity in media and exposes him to the Machiavellian antics of the Residences' minions. As soon as I finish my slow upload to YouTube I'll link my third rate rant to add my voice. A single voice is quickly quashed, but if the millions of us who wish we could use words like Keith simple say out loud that we agree with him, then his voice stands a better chance of remaining.

To claim the Resident is insane misses the point. For me his insanity lies along with the many in the stock market who look for short term monetary gains regardless of the long term consequences. He is willing to start WW3 for the sake of the Carlyle Group's profit margins thinking he has enough money to escape the fallout. Someone needs to give him a DVD of "On the Beach," a movie from the late fifties that accurately portrays the results of nuclear war. The effects will not be localized by wishful thinking.

Although the MSM won't talk about it, the US invaded Iran when they raided their consulate the other day. That is an act of War. An other illegal war. The Resident just can't get enough of it. As long as it is not his life on the line.

Worse than not news

Who, what, when, where, how, and, if independently verifiable, why are the hallmarks of journalism. At least, so I was taught when I first encountered the concept in school. If the story did not contain the first five, then the story was incomplete. The sixth element was allowable only if it could be ascertained by one or more sources independent of involvement in the incident.

News: A three alarm fire that has been claimed to be arson by a Fire Department Investigator, was brought to the attention of authorities around ten o’clock last night. The fire, which appears to have been started on the loading docks, located at the back of the old paint factory on Second and Maple Streets, created the need to evacuate the surrounding neighborhood. Any tips leading to conviction of the perpetrators would be eligible for rewards.

Not News: It was horrible. People were told to leave their homes. The city needs your help.

Worse than not News: The big fire yesterday, which anonymous sources say was set by Joe Blow who hates the owner, was bad for everybody. The big fire today is bigger than the big fire last night, so it will get worse for everybody. Any information that puts Joe Blow in jail will get the informant money.

On matters of most import, the major American media becomes more and more exemplified by the third example. Instead of news we get opinion and/or propaganda. The same lies that the news used to cheer lead the drumbeats that got us into war with Iraq are now beating the drums for war with Iran. This in behalf of a nation that has no constitution. American news quickly assigned blame for the latest assassination in Lebanon to Syria. Why wait for facts or even ask who else might be responsible.

November, already.

Voted already, to ensure I leave a paper trail. I intend to spend Tuesday at my local polling place, just to interact with the populace and hopefully educate on the stupidity of our current system of trusting those black boxes with our votes.

It is almost too easy as nearly everyone has a computer and no one has had a trouble free experience. Ask them if they'd trust their life on the reliability of a computer and at least it gets them to thinking. I tell them they have a right to request a paper ballot and I was pleasantly surprised how many took that option during the primaries.

Dickhead Pearle has learned that the war he championed so loudly for, four years ago, turns out to have been a mistake.
If it took this long for him to learn that, he's a slow learner and probably unable to project that lesson forward. I can hope that he will stop banging the drum for a new war with Iran. If he thinks that the war with Iraq was a "mistake," I lack the language to define the boondoggle that will insue should the cretins in control ignite the conflagration of a war with Iran. The truly maddening part of this is that I have to include way too many Democrats in the insane list of warmongers. Too much money in military contracts, I reckon.

October Surprises

Statements like this from "The Committee on the Present Danger" scare me:

The Hon. Henry Cooper

Director, Strategic Defense Initiative, 1990–93
Chief U.S. Negotiator, Geneva Defense and Space Talks with the Soviet Union, 1987–89
Deputy Negotiator, Geneva Defense and Space Talks with the Soviet Union, 1985–87

"Terrorism poses as potent a threat to our freedom as did communism – preserving our liberty while winning the war on terrorism may be more difficult than was ending the 'evil empire.' "

The Battle Carrier Group Eisenhower deploys this week for the Persian Gulf instead of docking as scheduled for maintenance. It is due off the coast of Iran on or about October 21. This info comes via Ray McGovern (27 year veteran of the CIA, retired 1990).

On October 7 a large Emergency Responders Training Exercise is scheduled to occur in several major cities. The last time there was a training exercise this large was September 11, 2001. If an other "Terrorist" attack occurs Bush will have free reign (by the sleep walking American public) to launch an attack on Iran.
